First Android Phone Released
Sep 29th
After a lot of waiting and wanting, the first Android based mobile device has been released.
Introducing the T-Mobile G1.
What do you think the G stands for (Google 1 maybe?). For starters, I like the phone and how it looks. I am however, more tolerant of bulky phones than most I think (considering that I currently use the KJam). The sliding screen, the full keyboard will definitely keep me in familiar territory. Considering that we are not really interested in the hardware part and more interested in the software part, I will go straight to my impressions of the screenshots that More >
My Google (Snail)Mail
Sep 29th
I got a mail from Google.
It was something that they said they had sent to me about 20 days ago, but I just got it. That’s cause it came by regular post. That’s right; SNAIL MAIL.
This is the mail they send to you once your adsense account reaches $10.00. Mine just did, hence the mail. It is for verifying the address of the adsense subscriber so that your payments can be sent to you via cheque (check for all you Americans). That they will only send to you when your account balance reaches $100.00.
For me, thats gonna take some More >
Cobra Beer
Sep 27th
This is truly the smoothest beer that I have ever had!!!!
I usually drink Fosters and when there is no option I drink Kingfisher. I recently had Cobra and I HAVE BEEN CONVERTED TO A DIFFERENT FAITH!!!! HALLELUIAH!!! From now onwards: Cobra Fosters Heinekin Budweiser Kingfisher That’s how it will be.
Since I was a little drunk when I wrote this post, I thought that I should make it a little more sane in language and brevity.
The beer is truly smooth. You can drink gulps of it without a break. I really don’t know why I wasn’t drinking this earlier. I had the mild and also More >
Review: Piano Bar
Sep 27th
Went to this new place in Mumbai called Piano Bar. If I had to sum it up in one sentence I would say that “the place is so small that a single sumo wrestler would fill it up”.
Of course I am exagerating, but not the fact that the place is small. It is just one rectangular room of about 40 ft by 20 ft and some area for the loo. The DJ was playing really old style dance music that failed to inspire even the most inebriated patrons. The drinks were, however, cheaper than the usual discotheque. A pint of More >
Kabini River Lodge
Sep 27th
I had the opportunity to visit a really nice place about 5 hours drive from Bangalore. The Kabini River Lodge is towards the southern tip of the Nagerhole National Park. It is also on the banks of the river Kabini (Hence the name), which is a tributory to the larger river Kaveri (Cauveri). This makes for a great place to visit for some much needed relaxation and photography.
Whats There:
I went there in September, which is not the best time to go there as the animals are difficult to find. In the dry season, they all gather along the banks of More >
Learning to Play the Guitar – Part 1
Sep 14th
I have decided to start learning the guitar. A friend of mine is leaving town and has decided to let me have his guitar and the things that he has with it like the tuner, the various books that he had bought when he decided to try and learn playing it. He did not succeed. Maybe I will.
So, like any self respecting blogger, I will be documenting my progress online. This is the first post in this series. I have yet to get the guitar from my friend and as soon as I do, I will put up pictures.

India gets NSG Waiver
Sep 7th
India conducted its first nuclear test in 1974. The effect of this was that the Indian janta was proud to be from a Nation that is nuclear capable and can deter other nuclear nations. Other people slammed India’s tests saying that they were giving fuel to the regional unrest (namely Pakistan) by carrying out nuclear tests.
This caused the NSG (Nuclear Suppliers Group) to enforce an embargo on our country that prevented the world from supplying civilian or military grade nuclear supplies to India. Lack of expendable nuclear fuel has been in my opinion one of the foremost reasons as to why More >
Review: LG Plasma TV [42PG61]
Sep 3rd
I have just bought my first Plasma TV. A 42 inch LG set. Earlier I had a 21 inch Sansui CRT. So a big leap for me both in terms of tecnology and screen size. I am, so for, extremely happy with the purchase. In India this Plasma cost me Rs. 60000, thats about USD 1350. I got a better deal beacuse of the exchange offer going on where they take your old TV and give you a price discount for that.
Technical Specifications:
The Plasma is 41.1 x 28.9 x 3.1 inches in size. This is one of the thinnest plasmas More >
