Learning to Play the Guitar – Part 2

The guitar is here.

One of my friends was moving to another town and had a guitar lying around. He had not been successful in learning it on his own. So I have taken it off of him. It is a locally made one which is good for a beginner like me. It does not have an amp jack. Photo below.

When I got the guitar, it was really out of tune. I tried a few resources available on the net, like sound clips and stuff, but they were really difficult to use. Getting the sound exactly is really not that easy by ear. So then I went to synaptic (Ubuntu software repository) and searched for a tuning tool, and, guess what, I found two good ones and one of them Lingot is exactly what I was looking for.

Its interface is just like one of the digital tuning tools that I had used earlier and it was really easy to tune the guitar then. Screen shot below (Every body loves screen shots!)

So now the guitar is tuned and I dont really have to buy a seperate tuner. However, I think I will just to be sure :-) .

So what did I learn today?

Well, I did some finger exercises and then played 2 chords again and again. C Major and G Major.

Well, thats it for now.
