Letters from Iwo Jima

I finally saw Letters from Iwo Jima yesterday. The movie was extremely well made and the depictions of the time and life of the Japanese was very well done. The conditions on Iwo Jima (from what I have read) were shown well. Ken Watanbe was good as usual. I wonder how Client Eastwood was able to coordinate everything considering that the entire movie is in Japanese!

One thing that struck me as odd was that when ever the Japanese were speaking to a senior officer, they always seemed to be using as extremely scolding tone. Wonder if thats how it is in Japan.

The movie portrays the similarities between the Japanese and the American soldiers and also the valiant effort by some of the soldiers under General Kuribayashi.
