I said in a related post that I would read the Dune series till the 3rd book and then get back to the unfinished(read boring) Garden of Rama novel. Alas, I have not been able to stop the series from taking over my reading schedule and I am not even sorry for it.
So the third book in the Dune series is Children of Dune was alright. It wasn’t as happenning as the others apart from a few important events that shape the Dune Saga. The most important event, of course, is when Leto II turns himself over to the Sandtrout and allows them to bond with him and basically turn him into a SandWorm-Human hybrid. This conversion gives Leto II extraordinarily long life (3000-4000 Years) and enhance his prescience abilities.
I have already finished this book and now I am onto book 4, which is God Emperor of Dune.
