Internet Goals for 2009

I thought this would be a good time to put my thoughts to the proverbial paper with regards to where I see my internet life going or rather where I would like to see it go. So here is a incomplete and to be updated list of what I want to achieve on the internet this year. Mind you, these, in no way, amount to resolutions. They are merely guidelines to me from myself.

  • My Blog: I am approaching my 100th post on this blog of mine. I have only been sufficiently and actively involved with blogging in the last 6 months or so. Now what I wish to do is to double the rate at which I post articles. So in the year 2009 I want to be able to put up about 200 articles on my blog. That’s not too bad considering that I am not a specialist or a techie or somebody famous. So putting down 200 things that effect me enough to blog about will be an achievement.
  • Money from Google Ads: This to me is important. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not looking to earn thousands from my semi-specialist, semi-techie, non-famous blog articles. I just want to be able to make enough to be able to pay for hosting and the domains that I currently have. I am very happy with my current service provider and definitely want to upgrade and pay them more. However, since Google will only payout when I reach USD100, I really don’t know how ling this will take. but that USD100 will pay for 4 years of my hosting and domains.
  • More Visitors: Now when I say more visitors, I mean that I want to be able to get people for varied places to come and see my blog and comment on my articles. I do have a lot of visitors but somehow I can’t seem to provoke them to comment on articles. This is something that I want to really work on. I want to have people discussing the articles that I have posted, in the comments.
  • Get Published: I want to get some of my articles published on other related blogs. I know that this is a good way to get quality visitors to your website and also increase your Google search ranking. I have already started sending some articles here and there and also am focusing on creating content that can be used on other blogs. I think I will force some of my friends to post some of my articles.

That’s all that I can think of now. More to come.

    1) 100 in 6 months , 200 in 1 year.. that’s just the same rate man. LOL!

    2) Yeah, I agree. Just the idea to have a blog that is self supported in everyway feels good.

    3) More visitors who can comment and click at the same time :)

    4) Can you do that? I had no idea.

I like these guidelines. I will borrow a few.
