Review: Road Trip – Bangalore

On my recent trip to the IT hub of India, Bangalore, I went for lunch to a place my friends had told me about a few times. Situated in a nondescript lane in the city is Road Trip. As the name suggests this restaurant does have something to do with traveling. More specifically with motorcycling. This is a fact made abundantly clear by the decor of the place.

The door handle is actually a handlebar from a motorcycle, the lights under the ceiling are headlamps of motorcycles and also cars (I presumed, as they looked a little too big to be from motorcycles). The logo of the place is the silhouette of a man with his motorcycle and that basically says it all.

How else can you tell that this is a place for bikers? Well the two classic BSA motorcycles should give you a clue. Not to mention the fact that every body insists that it used to be a bikers hangout. Which in India usually means some middle aged guys on either their Royal Enfields or on some other classic bike.

Then we got down to the eating and drinking. It is a restaurant after all. Some nice beer and some starters. Apparently beer is all that they serve. So I had the beer. The food was good. I had the steak in red wine, although I really couldn’t taste the wine, the steak was fine. A little less well done than I usually like but tasty none the less. The menu was continental and the servings were generous. There was also a very interesting looking selection of deserts even though I didn’t have any. Alas, I wish I had but one stomach to give to my appetite! All in all a good experience.
