It took quite a lot of effort on my part to be able to see G I Joe. Since I did not catch it in the first week of release, all the shows in the next week were in the day time. Apparently the movie was not a priority for the theaters. Finally after a lot of searching, a smaller theatre had the movie playing at a more decent time and also had enough takers.

I had been warned by most to go with low expectations. All I could say to them after the movie was, “thats how a G I Joe movie is supposed to be.” I really dont know what they were comparing it to. In my opinion, the movie was exactly what the cartoons had to offer. Packed with action and special effects it never had a dull moment. If I had an inkling of the accelerator suit, all my G I Joe toy characters would have been wearing it and doing exactly what the characters in the movie were doing.

One of my gripes was the voice of Cobra Commander who ended up sounding like Darth Vader, whereas the voice should have been more like Skeletor from He Man. I am sure that anyone who has seen any of the cartoons will agree with me. The other problem was the fact the the Baroness and Duke got too close. That is just not a happening thing. Apart from that, I really enjoyed the movie and even my wife was pleased after her initial reluctance to accompany me.
